What is bullet journal?

Hi! Welcome back

Perhaps you heard of bullet journaling or have seen one on Instagram while scrolling through the feed and became intrigued. Or perhaps you stumbled here and you have no idea what on earth this thing is and you're starting from square one. Great news! you're in the right place. I'm going to walk you through exactly what it is, where it came from, and what it can do for you.

For many people, getting organized is one of those items that remain on the top of their priority that never happens.

If you’re one of those individuals, chances are you’ve gone through dozens of notebooks, journals, planners, and apps in the hope of locking down that one organizational system that works for you.

If this sounds familiar, you might want to give bullet journaling a try. This organizational craze, which has taken over social media for a while now, is like a planner, to-do list, diary, and sketchbook all in one. It’s a trend that shows no sign of slowing down any time soon.

So, what exactly is bullet journaling and what’s the best way to get started?

A bullet journal or BUJO for short is an organizational system created by Ryder Carroll, a designer in NYC that helps you keep track of everything in your busy life. It’s a life hack, a physical place to store everything you need to do, remember, or give attention to. A bullet journal is way to keep organized in a fast-paced world.

This system is a combined hard version of a to-do list, reminders, tasks, lists, and anything else you need it to be, all in one place. And you don’t any fancy digital device. All you need is a pen and a notebook.

Unlike a planner with its preprinted pages, bullet journaling involves taking a blank notebook and creating your own ever-evolving system with which you keep your life organized.

What can you use a BULLET JOURNAL for?

The short answer: Everything.

The beauty of bullet journaling is that you can make

  • Boost your health – improve your sleeping and eating habits by tracking them and charting your progress. Map out your meals and fitness routine. Create a habit tracker.
  • Organize your finances – track and improve your finances by creating a monthly budget, tracking your daily spending, and set your savings goals.
  • Preserve your memories – plan trips and get together by creating packing lists and itineraries and then documents the fun and diary entry.
  • Track your habits

The bullet journal is a beautiful multi-faceted thing, and there's no way I could possibly cover everything in this post. But I do hope this post serves as a way to understand it more clearly.
